Police say that after the murder of Giralal Pahlwan, Goldie Brar allegedly started making ransom calls to various people in Faridkot and Muktsar Sahib areas.
Goldie specifically came to the attention of the Punjab and Chandigarh police in October 2020. Goldie Brar’s cousin Gurlal Brar was allegedly killed by the Bombayha gang in Chandigarh.
Giralal was the former president of students’ organization at Punjab University. Another accused in the Sidhu Musewala case, Lawrence Bishnoi, has also been associated with this student organization in Chandigarh.
According to the police, Goldie Brar has decided to take revenge for the murder of her cousin Giral Brar.
Step into the world of crime
The oldest case against Goldie Brar in police records is from 2012.
A Moga resident alleged that he was going to the gym in his car. Some people were standing on the roadside with weapons near the railway crossing. They attacked the man from Moga and managed to escape.
However, in 2015, Goldie Brar was acquitted by the court for not being found guilty in the case.
In 2013, Rakesh Ranhawa, a resident of Abuhar, alleged that Goldie Brar and two others allegedly dragged him into their car at gunpoint and assaulted him with sharp weapons. Goldie Brar was acquitted in this case too.
A serious case is from the year 2020 in which a case was registered against Goldie Brar for the murder of Ranjit Singh in Malut.
One of the accused, Pawan Nehra, told the police during interrogation that he along with his accomplices had killed Ranjit Singh Rana on the instructions of Canada-based Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar. Manjeet Kaur, the mother of the victim, also made the same accusation. This matter is currently under hearing in court.
Police sources say that after 2020, he allegedly became more involved in crime. Serious charges like extortion and murder continued to be leveled against him.
But since the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, Goldie’s mention has increased a lot. Punjabi rapper Sidhu Musewala was shot dead on May 29 this year.
Since this murder, Goldie’s name has been on the top of the most wanted list for the Punjab Police.
Alleged mastermind in Sidhu Moshewala murder case
In the charge sheet filed by the police in the court, it has been stated that Goldi Brar is the mastermind of the Sidhu Musewala murder case.
The charge sheet further states that Goldie managed the shooters and assigned different tasks to different people. “They arranged for shooters from different groups and arranged for vehicles, money, weapons and their accommodation.”
Goldie had reportedly informed the shooters on May 28 that Sidhu Musewala’s security team was not with them. Then on May 29, instructions were given to speed up the implementation of the project.

According to the police, Goldie allegedly hatched the plan to avenge the murder of Vicky Madukhera. According to the charge sheet, Goldie is the person who allegedly arranged the stay of the shooters. He and Lawrence Bishnoi have claimed responsibility for Mosewala’s murder on social media.
Transferred to Canada and then ‘arrested’ in the US
According to police sources, Goldi has allegedly been involved in crimes within the country even while living outside the country. For example, he is considered an accused in the murder case of Dera Sacha Sauda supporter Pradeep Singh Kataria in Sirsa. Recently, Goldie Brar had claimed responsibility for Pradeep Singh’s murder.
Pradeep was an accused in a 2015 case. He was shot dead by six assailants in Faridkot. He was at his dairy shop in the early hours of the morning.
Goldi Brar’s original name is Satyendrajit Singh and he was a resident of Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. Like many Punjabis, he had a dream to go to Canada. He left for Canada on Independence Day 2017 i.e. August 15. Official sources say he went to Canada on a study visa.
Five months ago, the Punjab Police had issued a report stating that ‘Goldie Brar is in Brampton, Canada and is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.’
Police officers have told the BBC that Goldie had moved to the US from Canada.
And now Goldie Brar has been detained in the US. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has confirmed that the process of his extradition to India will begin after his arrest.

For the first time in the year 2020, the Punjab Police issued a notice that Goldi Brar is among the wanted persons. After Musewala’s murder, Indian authorities contacted Interpol, while the police sent a red notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation, meaning he was on the most-wanted list.
