A close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin has died after falling from the 16th floor of a building.
According to foreign media, Marina Yankina was associated with the financial support department of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to reports, the body of 58-year-old Marina Yankina was found lying on the floor of a residential complex in the St. Petersburg area, identified by a passerby.
According to foreign media, Marina Yankina was believed to be one of the figures behind the funding efforts for the war in Ukraine.
According to reports, items found in the building suggest that the apartment is owned by Marina Yankina’s husband and that she did not live there.
According to foreign media, this is the second high-profile death in a matter of days during the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier, Major General Vladimir Makarov, who was recently sacked by the Russian President, committed suicide.
