Live: The second day of ‘Jail Bharu Tehreek’ is in Peshawar, Fawad Chaudhry

On the second day of Jail Bharu Movement, Peshawar activists will make arrests.

On the second day of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ‘Jail Bharu Tehreek’, Peshawar leaders and workers will make arrests today.

PTI leaders have directed Peshawar workers to reach Gulbahar Police Station at 11 am.

President Peshawar Region and former provincial minister Atif Khan said that they will record their protest in front of Gulbahar Police Station. And first PTI leaders will present their arrest.

Arrested people do not want to stay in jail: Federal Interior Minister

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that barely 80 people who have been arrested in Lahore do not want to stay in jail.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said that he wants to go back but now it will take two to four days.

‘Jail Bharu Movement’: Ibad Farooq handed over to police on 14-day physical remand

The anti-terrorism court of Lahore has handed over PTI leader Ibad Farooq, who was arrested in ‘Jail Bharu Tehreek’, to the police on 14-day physical remand.

On Thursday, Ibad Farooq was presented for physical remand in the Special Anti-Terrorism Court where the police asked for 30 days physical remand of Ibad Farooq.

The investigating officer told the court that ‘Ibad Farooq along with his colleagues attacked the police vehicle with sticks. The photogrammatic test of the accused is to be done, therefore the physical remand of the accused should be approved.

Ibad Farooq said that he was a PhD doctor and had no baton in his hands.

“Five hundred people were present there, but terrorism provisions were imposed on them.”

After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court approved the physical remand of the accused for 14 days and asked for the investigation report at the next hearing.

Not conducting elections means breaking the constitution: Pervez Khattak

Senior PTI leader Pervez Khattak has said that the violation of the constitution is going on because the constitution says that elections will be held in 90 days.

While holding a press conference with PTI leaders in Peshawar on Thursday, he said that they (government) are running away from the elections, it is our legal right and the constitution has allowed us to hold elections in 90 days.

“If they don’t hold elections, it means that they want to break the constitution. When the constitution is broken, it will be the law of the jungle, then what will be left in this country.”

Pervaiz Khattak said that I had many meetings and I always kept talking to them (the government) that elections should be held and whoever has the majority should run the country. So their clear answer is that you are winning.

He said that they used to say that we are experienced, when we come, prosperity will come to the country, inflation will end, but we all saw why they came.

If they wanted to fix the country, they would have given a policy on how to run the industry, how the business of this country will run, how our income will increase, how our debts will come down. They would have given any policy, but they want to run this country on loans.

Pervez Khattak further said that if they have come because of inflation, then why the propaganda against us, why was our government abolished?

Crime must be committed to go to jail: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Prisons Jat Shafiullah says that the capacity for prisoners in the prisons is already low, but if the court sends the prisoners, we will make arrangements.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s caretaker minister for prisons Shafiullah told Urdu News in a special interview that “Why is registration being done to go to jail?” A crime must be committed to go to jail.

He said that it is not possible that the workers protest and we put them in jail without committing a crime.

PTI leaders Zubair Niazi and Ibad Farooq, among others, have been produced in the special anti-terrorism court in Lahore.

Punjab Police will request the physical remand of the accused.

The two leaders have been accused of damaging police mobiles and threatening officials during the ‘Jail Bharu Movement’.

Elections in Punjab and KP, hearing on spontaneous notice today

The hearing on the issue of delay in the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on Thursday at 2 pm on the spontaneous notice of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

On Wednesday, Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal constituted a nine-member larger bench to hear the suo motu notice.

On February 16, 2023, a two-member bench of the Supreme Court requested to take suo motu notice under Article 184 III of the Constitution in the case of transfer of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.

Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Fawad Chaudhry has said that the second day of ‘Jail Bharu Tehreek’ is today in the name of Peshawar.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said that the leadership and workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will make arrests in Peshawar today.

He said that Inshallah, like Lahore, Peshawar will also come out for this movement of arrests for justice and against inflation.
