Under the Haj quota distribution, the government allocated around 45,000 seats under the sponsorship scheme. However, only around 6,000 applications were received for this scheme, leaving around 10,000 seats vacant due to limited interest.
The finance minister has urged intending pilgrims to pray for the progress and prosperity of the country. The decision to accept all applications without balloting will provide an opportunity for more people to perform Haj this year.
